April 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)! This year’s theme, “25 Years Stronger: Looking Back, Moving Forward,” celebrates the resilience of survivors and the communities that have worked for change (NSVRC).

At the Women and Families Center, we strive to create a safe and affirming environment for survivors of sexual violence to come forward and receive support. To commemorate SAAM, the WFC Sexual Assault Crisis Services (SACS) program hosts an annual vigil to honor survivors and uplift their voices. The vigil is an opportunity for the communities we serve to come together and spread awareness about sexual assault resources and celebrate the strength of survivors.
